When we launched our Kickstarter campaign for this album, we gave an option to help us choose a hymn to add to it. We offered a poll with several of our favorite hymns, but “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” was the clear winner so Kris set out to write an arrangement of it. Being a full-time worship leader, he spends a good chunk of his work life arranging hymns for congregational singing. But this was a very different challenge – to set this beloved hymn with a broad stately character in a way that represents our family with 6 wild kids and various levels of chaos at all times! He decided to give it a casual, organic feel infused with folk melodies. It’s laid back and a little quirky – just like us! It also serves as a prelude to the next segment of the album where we delve into a time of deep upheaval where the only thing we had to cling to was His promise of faithfulness.
