Have you ever had a moment in your life where you felt like your eyes were opened in a fresh new way? This song represents one of those moments for us. Any work in the realm of child advocacy starts with the basic conviction that every person has value (you’ll probably pick up on the not-so-subtle reference to one of our favorite Dr. Seuss books 😁❤️). Kris began writing this song four years ago when we started the process to become licensed foster parents. “No Matter How Small” is a look inside our hearts as we walked through the various stages of this calling:
•first by letting God open our eyes to every person’s intrinsic beauty and worth
•then by realizing the extent of the child welfare crisis and that we have the responsibility to step forward and help
•ultimately ending with us moving into a bigger house and diving into the difficult and life giving work of foster care.
We pray that this song resonates with other families who have worked through this same calling. We pray that God uses it to ignite that calling in others. “Because after all, a person’s a person no matter how small.”
